It seems like its becoming more and more exceptable to date men in jail. I
constantly see girls saying "Free my husband such and such, I'm a real chick,
Imma hold it down". Now my question is, what does "holding it down mean?". Does
holding it down mean being faithful? Or does holding it down mean supplying the
man incarcerated with support, meaning emotionally and monetarily. Honestly, if
you really think about it, woman are the only ones losing in this situation. Why
put your life on hold for someone, that probably wouldn't do the same for you
and most likely will not appreciate what you did for him when he comes home.
Men can hardly stay faithful while you guys are together everyday, imagine if
you had to go away. Jail sets men back so when they come home they feel they
need to make up for time lost, mostly sexually. I witness stories like these
everyday and us woman are the only ones hurt in the end. Alot of girls from my
social network accounts said they would provide him with support but they
wouldn't stay faithful. I honestly respect that decision. Especially if before
he got arrested he was providing for you. Another thing I wanted to know was,
what about the army? If your man went away to the army would you remain faithful
to him? All except one said yes. The yes girls said they would be faithful and
supportive of their man going to the army. The reason for this is because unlike
jail, this is a positive thing with great benefits. Now ironically the girl who
said she wouldn't support her man in the army is one of the girls that said she
would hold her man down in the jail. Her reason? She feels the stress of being
worried is too overwhelming. I personally feel jail is no safer than the army.
Just because you go into the army it's not guaranteed you will go to war. Now in
jail you have to fight for your life everyday. Atleast in the army you know
who's fighting against you and who's fighting with you. What are your thoughts?
